ABOUT

By the time someone seeks therapeutic support, issues have likely been simmering for some time and there is a tremendous need for relief. Clients often tell me that they have been trying to cope on their own and struggling with frustrations and emotions that don’t seem to resolve. A successful road to relief should be paved by a skilled clinician who can facilitate the gut level honesty necessary for change work that can finally allow you to achieve sustained peace.
After graduating from the University of Michigan, I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work while raising my four sons in Connecticut. My professional experience includes eight years at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in New York. Five of which I served as the Program Director while maintaining a private practice. Bearing witness to profound changes in people who work hard to achieve them is a constant source of inspiration.
I specialize in treating adolescents, adults and couples. I have a wide scope of experience and extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Collaborative Problem Solving. If none of that makes any sense to you, that’s okay! It’s my job to tailor treatment to best suit your needs.
Research indicates that the best predictor of a positive outcome is based largely on the therapeutic alliance between the client and clinician. In other words, in order to do the work, you would need to feel validated, supported, heard and understood. It is my deep commitment to set a tone that would facilitate all of those ingredients. My goal is to bring warmth, connection and (hopefully) some humor into the work.
In my free time you will find me with the windows rolled down, the radio up and cheering loudly for Michigan football on fall Saturdays.
